Back to School

So I have been having a bit of fun looking up school supplies (nerd alert!) and things for our apartment! We move this week and I can't wait! So I put together a fun little Polyvore set for those of us that are still in college or heading out to it of some fun items that will bring some color, life and individuality into your new space! Oh and not to mention the fact that these aren't just decorations but actually useful things! Enjoy!

Just a quick pic

Earrings- Modcloth ,Dress- Vintage (similar), Brooch- hair bow and brooch given to me

My mother in law snapped this pic of us before we got onto the Missouri. Wore a great vintage dress and a pin I made that day. Kept me cool! More pics to come! Oh and that's my long flowing in the wind. I swear this is the longest it's been in maybe 12 years!

Kualoa Ranch

The other week we went on a movie tour of the Kualoa Ranch. You can do a bus tour, an atv tour or a horse ride tour! But anywho, we got to see sites of where TONS of movies have been filmed. Did yo know that if they are filming something here, they still do the tours and just stop the cameras for them? SO SWEET! But no one was filming while we were there.

The Kualoa Ranch has thousands of acres where they do raise some cattle. Movies and shows like LOST, Mighty Joe Young, Journey 2, Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, George of the Jungle, Godzilla, 50 First Dates and at least 5 other more I forgot the names of were filmed in this area that we drove through!

The Kissing Gorillas

The Kualoa Ranch wasn't always just a movie site or Ranch. During WWII it was a base! There are still some buildings and bunkers there that they show us. The trees are all grown up around it now, but with no trees at all, it was an ideal place to see north, east and south. Above is looking out to sea (North East). So I loved hearing some actual history of it too.

Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail

We went on a hike last week to Makapu'u Lighthouse. It was a short little hike, paved and everything, but it was a GORGEOUS day! That blue you see? ...yeah it actually looked like that. I couldn't believe it! It looked like the blue you are told when you are in kindergarten and you are making those projects with the clear blue paper as your water! It was amazing! I had never seen anything so gorgeous and so blue.
Here's to hoping you have a great weekend! I will have some outfit posts up soon woo!
