Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas from Hawaii! We had a great Christmas here. We went to church in the morning and then got to go back to my place to gather around our mini tree and presents from home!!

We made a Christmas breakfast and stuffed ourselves at each meal. Not to mention got a sugar high from all the candy we ate too! I hope everyone was able to enjoy their Christmas and have fun with loved ones!

Maxi to pencil skirt!

So I got this maxi skirt over the summer and wore it once out here in HI but I couldn't walk in it because my strides are new yorker sized. After I figured I wouldn't wear it anymore I decided to make it into a skirt using this pattern.
I wanted to make the pencil skirt and see how it would come out. It was relatively easy. The only thing that took me a while was cutting one side of the skirt open and placing the pattern pieces so they would fit on. I placed the bottom of the skirt pattern at the bottom hemmed part of the maxi skirt so I wouldn't have to hem again! Yay less work! This is the before......
And here's the after!!
The back...I didn't have a zipper so I just extended the waistband so I could make it tie.
I just love that last pic because you can really see the color and print well. I really love wearing this skirt around. It is so lightweight and perfect for the weather around here in HI. My sewing class final is tonight and we are having a fashion show!! I will post some pics of that and my final project soon! Enjoy your tuesday!

Awesome News!

Well you all know how I was depressed about my Jeffrey Campbell's gone missing??!
Well guess what random package showed up after a month of being unable to be found??! Yep that's right!! My package came with all the things that I had been waiting for! Kevin and I practically shredded the box to make sure the shoes were there! And they were! Oh my goodness can I tell you how happy I was they were safe and sound! Now I know they are just shoes, but Kevin bought them for me before we were even engaged and we promised we would save them for our wedding! So yes I had my shoes WAY before the dress!
Other than that, life has been pretty good! Midterms are over and now the final last stretch of school is underway! I started listening to Christmas music yesterday...Is that really bad?? Kevin and I saw Christmas candy in Foodland yesterday! They had 2 pound reeses cups...AMAZING!!
Here's to a happy weekend!! Have a good one everyone! Stay warm you east coasters!

Devastated

I am completely devastated. So you see these shoes?....

These are the shoes I was going to wear on our wedding day. Perfect right?! They were such lovelies and sooooo comfortable! Jeffrey Campbell Unicorn heels. I loved em! They even fit perfectly! Well I have an appointment to try on dresses soon and so I asked my mom to send them out to me in HI. And the package that had them in there is now over a week late....

I keep hoping that miraculously they will be there on my door step! We will see what happens the next week. But it gets me thinking.... what happens to all the "lost" packages? Where do they go? Can there honestly be "lost packages" today?

Ice Cube Tray Jewelry Holder

Hello again! I know it has been a whole month I am terrible. But I wanted to share an idea I had just yesterday! I don't have a jewelry stand out here at school and so my jewelry has just been laid out on a shelf in my room for the past month. The other day Kevin's family sent us a package with 2 ice cube trays. We could only use one in my fridge and so I had an empty ice cube tray laying around and getting very frustrated with it taking up space. AHA!! Geniusness occurred and I put my earrings and a few small necklaces into the ice tray!

Like it? I do! And it isn't too hard to get the earring out if you just scoop it out. So there is my stroke of genius for everyone today! Hope your Sunday is going well!

August!

Well it's August already!! Yesterday was Kevin and mine 2.5 year anniversary! I can't believe we have been together for two and a half years! But they have been awesome years! Soon we will both be packing up to transfer to BYUH..yes BYU Hawaii!!! I am so excited! But i am REALLY going to miss fall fashion. I love the scarves, the warm gloves, the layers and layers of sweaters, the boots, the rich colors and of course Field Hockey! I miss that sport SO BAD!

Here is a cheesy video for you! Fieldhockey Absolutely Everybody. BUT seriously everyone and everybody can play. Men and women, anybody! Such a team sport! My mom and I even sent some used sticks and tennis balls to my brother in Iraq for him and the guys to play with and they LOVED IT! They didn't care much for the rules but he said they all enjoyed it alot!

My sisters will back me up on this but that sound of hitting the inside of the cage... sweet music!! I hear that and I am home!! But anyways sorry for the distraction!

Almost a month ago now I went with Kevin's family to Williamsburg, VA. It was so much fun!! We went to waterparks, buschgardens and colonial Williamsburg. It was crazy fun. I'll put up some pictures next post, but for now, enjoy this week and fill up those schedules with fun summer things to do! Go go go!

Walking about

So this week Kevin and I took a walk at Poet's Walk. It's so pretty (buggy too!) with all the wild flowers growing in the fields! My pictures are not that great but Kevin's mom is letting us use her camera since Kevin is the only one that can get it to work!
No I am not dressed super fashionable but I am wearing an awesome v-neck shirt I got at Michaels! They had it in crazy neon colors and almost got more! Wearing my amazing pumas and jeans, and Kevin in his classic shirt and sport shorts, we treaded through the mud and hills to get to look over the Hudson by the bridge. It was so pretty! I mean for being the Hudson.

My mom and I have been trying to prep the house for Ryan's coming home for leave from being overseas in the military. My sister and her bf are coming up and so is my brother and his wife and kids. I can't wait to see everyone and have mostly everyone together!

Anita Darling!

I was searching Modcloth the other day, swooning over the clothes that are insanely adorable and "loving" (clicking on the heart button to love that item and save it in a list of things you love) so many dresses and shirts that had the same sort of feel. THEN I realized that so many of the items I loved were from the same company- "Darling" is their name...SO perfect! They are a UK based company and have the BEST dresses, skirts, sweaters...etc! On their website, most of their clothing is pretty expensive. On Modcloth they are about the same price but I also found one of their shirts on Anthropologie and got a little too excited. I flew through the Darling lookbook and fell in love! The name, the clothes just not the price. But I can dream can't I? This jacket is definitely what I will be dreaming of!

Comparative Pricing

So I look at so many clothing websites that have the same kind of vibe that many times I see the same products at different prices...Like here's my new favorite shoe...
They are made by rocket dog and give a cute twist to the red heel with a floral and dot pattern. Here are their comparative prices...
Shopruche.com = $56.99
Lulus.com = $57.00
Modcloth.com =$69.99

I'm sure most of you who love shopping already do some of this yourself, but it can save some money and help you decide if that item is really worth it.
Here's another dress I fell in love with on Modcloth called European shores! I loved the color but not the price...and the fact that it was sold out within 2 days.

But then I found the gray one on the right on Lulus!
Modcloth's price - $54.99
Lulu's - $43.00
..and it's still in stock.
Now here are some summer sandals I have been keeping my eye on! Now these babies are going for.....
$36.00 - Lulus (brown and black)
$26.80 - Urban Original (all three)
One last pair to show you all. So these shoes I spotted on 4 websites.

Modcloth -$44.99 (the above picture)
Lulus - $41.00 (in black)
Shopruche - $30.00 (chocolate brown)
Urban Original - $25.90 (black, camel and brown)
Ok sorry to ramble on about this stuff but I just LOVE comparing prices and getting a great deal! Hope you all can do the same!
